6 New Fragrances for Summer 2020
Fruit, spice and everything nice.
With summer fast approaching, it's time to update our fragrance wardrobe with refreshing scents to wear in the sun. From fresh citruses to sweet florals, here are six new scents that will instantly transport your senses to holiday-like bliss.
BYREDO’s Sundazed is summer in a bottle; one that recalls the warmth of an endless summer with top notes of mandarin and Californian lemon leading to a bold heart of neroli and Arabian jasmine.
Designed to evoke nostalgia, the cotton candy and white musk base notes add depth to the citrus scent like the endorphin rush of sugar on skin. To experience the full Sundazed ritual, the limited-edition hand cream and hair perfume are also available in travel sizes.
Dolce & Gabbana Beauty
Just in time for summer, Dolce & Gabbana Beauty’s Fruit Collection is a refreshing tribute to the colours and beauty of Sicily. Each fragrance in the collection is centred around a singular fruit bursting with lively colours and vivid scents. Zesty Lemon, Sweet Orange and Exotic Pineapple: a playful trio that encompasses the vitality of Sicilian orchards in full bloom, bringing an elegant touch to fruity fragrances.
Looking just as vibrant as it smells, Fruit Collection fragrances come in glass bottles adorned with fruit-shaped caps inspired by the motifs of Sicily’s renowned maiolica ceramics.
Known for its plant-based approach to beauty, Aesop launches a new fragrance dedicated to the Japanese rose—Rozu. Inspired by the life and work of French modernist designer Charlotte Perriand, Rozu is a heady layering of rich floral notes, including rose, petitgrain, bergamot, shiso and pink pepper, balanced by soft notes of ylang ylang, jasmine and guaiac wood.
A grounding base of sandalwood, vetiver and patchouli complete the fragrance with an earthy finish intended to appeal all genders.
A newcomer to the Gucci Guilty legacy, Gucci Guilty Pour Homme Eau de Parfum is a celebration of freedom and liberty. A reinterpretation of the original ingredients of pink pepper and Italian lemon used in fragrances from the same collection, the new addition features soothing fresh rose and spicy chili pepper to create an unexpected sensation.
Orange blossom absolute, neroli and French lavender add intensity to the heart of the fragrance, before finishing with a rich, sensual base of patchouli and cedar wood.
L’Interdit Eau de Parfum is not exactly a new fragrance—it was created by Hubert de Givenchy in 1957 as a tribute to Audrey Hepburn. Reinvented in 2018, the modern L’Interdit embodies contrasts of white flowers and dark notes, unleashing a bold luminosity that is unafraid to cross the line.
A "forbidden union" of orange blossom, jasmine and tuberose interlaced with dark vetiver and patchouli undertones, the 2020 Couture Edition is dressed up in black lace in a collector bottle.
A new interpretation of Gabrielle Chanel Eau de Parfum, this new fragrance is inspired by the radiance of founder Gabrielle Chanel. The elegant white Grasse tuberose is the star ingredient of the Essence, elevated by jasmine, ylang ylang and Tunisian orange blossom.
Featuring softer top notes of citrus and a tangy dash of red berries, the Essence is complete with woody base notes of sandalwood, vanilla and white musk. It hovers weightlessly within the square bottle crafted of ultra-thin glass, radiating with a luxurious gold hue that echoes with the fragrance.
