These innovations may keep your home virus-free.
Casetify UV Sanitizer
Say goodbye to sanitizing your phone with disinfectant wipes—disinfecting your tech has never been easier with Casetify’s UV Sanitizer. Using advanced 360° sanitisation technology, the UV Sanitizer features six Mercury-free UV-C LED lamps to eliminate the germs found on your phone and other small devices, including AirPods, watches and accessories.
Simply place your device inside the UV Sanitizer and press the circular button to activate a three-minute cycle (six-minute for UV Sanitizer Lite, a more portable and lightweight option). Even better, it also includes a built-in wireless charger, so you can rest assured that your phone is clean and recharged. It’s worth noting that while the UV Sanitizer is proven to kill 99.9% of germs, it’s not been tested against Covid-19.
Did you know that Covid-19 virus can live on surfaces anywhere from six hours up to nine days? On a mission to provide an additional layer of protection for households, Hong Kong-based UVCloset has invented a safe and efficient way to block viruses from entering the home from the moment you step through the door.
Using an UVC lamp that kills up to 99.9% of most viruses, airborne bacteria, mold and fungi, the UVCloset is an enclosed, reflective closet that can disinfect clothes, shoes, gear, gadgets, deliveries and any items that have been in contact with the outside world within 5 minutes. A smart outlet for the modern home, it can be controlled remotely with Alexa, Siri or Google.

Philips UV-C Disinfection Desk Lamp
Hospitals have been using Ultraviolet (UV) lights as a cleaning tool for years, and this technology is now moving into homes as household devices. The world’s biggest lighting maker, Signify, has tested its new UV-C technology with researchers at Boston University and found that its UV light has the ability to eradicate “99% of the Covid-19 virus with six seconds of exposure”. “It’s a preventive measure, meaning we are disinfecting objects, environments, surfaces, and the air,” says Eric Rondolat, CEO of Signify.
With smart voice control and a compact and transportable design, the lamp can be placed in the living room, bedroom, bathroom or kitchen for a recommended period of time to allow sanitation to take place. Unlike disposable wipes, single-use plastic gloves and disinfectant spray, the lamp is capable of killing the virus regardless of drug substances and without toxic chemicals—not to mention it’s more eco-friendly, too.
